Are you an experienced runner looking for your next challenge? Or perhaps you’re new to running and want to take part in a fun and friendly race? The Black Pear Joggers’ multi-lap marathon could be the event for you! Why not take part and help raise money for two Worcester charities including Worcestershire Young Carers at YSS?

The annual ‘Wild One’ marathon, held by the Black Pear Joggers, a friendly running group in Worcester, is taking place on Sunday 22 July and entries are now open for new and experienced runners to join the race!

Taking place at the Old Elizabethans Cricket Club in Worcester and kicking off at 9.30am, the multi-lap marathon can be completed on your own, as part of a pair or as a team of five as a relay event. As well as the chance to blow off steam and win prizes for the fastest marathon times, best fancy dress and fastest lap, by taking part runners can also help to support two local charities – Maggs Day Centre supporting homeless people and Worcestershire Young Carers, a service delivered by independent charity YSS.

Chris Baigent-Reed, a member of the Black Pear Joggers, said “We’re delighted to be supporting Worcestershire Young Carers once again with the return of the Wild One race. The event always has such a great atmosphere and this year will be no different! As well as the multi-lap marathon there is also the option to enter your children in to the Wild Mile, so we hope to see as many families, children, friends and groups as possible joining us on the day – it would be brilliant to beat last year’s fundraising total of £2,290!”

Entry to the event costs £16 per person for affiliated runners or £18 for unaffiliated runners, with proceeds being split between Maggs Day Centre and Worcestershire Young Carers.
