Staff at YSS recently completed Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) training.

Using different interventions to change feelings and thought processes, the training provided staff with a new set of skills in order to engage, motivate and empower some of the most marginalised people in society, including children as young as seven who are acting as young carers, families who need additional support and people coming out of prison.

NLP training is the practice of understanding how people organise their thinking, feeling, language and behaviour to produce the results they do.

David Andrewartha, Operations Manager at YSS, took part in the training and said: “The training was really informative and has provided us with more tools to use when supporting service users. Will is a very skilled and experienced trainer, who kept us engaged throughout the training, opening up our minds to new ideas and ways of working.”

Lorraine Preece, Chief Executive at YSS, said: “The learning from the course will be utilised in staff supervisions and team meetings, and will become an integral part of what we are all about at YSS.”
